Welcome to Bear Mountain | Langford
This sophisticated area is family-friendly and full of opportunities for adventure.
The Langford and Bear Mountain area is known for its breathtaking scenery, family-friendly vibe, and plenty of outdoor activities. Located just 13 kilometres from the heart of Victoria, Langford blends the peaceful life of a resort community with easy access to B.C.’s capital city.
In the 1850s, the settlement of Langford first began as the site of one of the Hudson Bay Company’s farms. The community continued to grow in the early 1860s when a brief gold rush led prospectors to the area in what is now Goldstream Provincial Park.
For years, visitors have been drawn to the scenic sophistication of the area, and it was a popular vacation spot in the 19th century. This tradition of being an idyllic getaway continues with the Bear Mountain Resort.
